Q&A with Amanda Örtenhag – The voice behind Lisa Peterson!

Who is the voice behind Lisa Peterson? Meet the talented Amanda Örtenhag! Amanda is a Swedish singer and songwriter and has her own band, Mendy.

Q: What kind of music do you like?

A: I like all kinds of music, but closest to my heart is Americana and Pop!

Q: When did you start to sing?

A: I started singing when I was around 8-9 years old, in a gospel choir! I slowly got to do some solos, and loved it, so I’ve been singing since then.

Q: How do you feel about Lisa?

A: To sing as Lisa is so fun and inspiring! Lisa and I are so alike – introverted musicians with a cool look but at the same time, a warm and emotional core.

Q: What do you like the most about being a musician?

A: The most fun with being a musician and singer, is that I have the opportunity to work with so many different people, and with different genres mostly daily. And now to be apart of the Star Stable community is so amazing!

Q: What’s your favorite band/musicians?

A: I like all kinds of genre and music, but at the time I’m listening a lot to Bonnie Raitt, The Highwomen and Bonny Light Horseman. And I also get influenced by a lot of different music, but First Aid Kit, Sarah Klang and Daniel Norgren are the musicians that influenced me the most I think, and they’re all from Sweden!

Q: Which of Lisa’s songs is your favorite?

A: My favorite Lisa song so far is Say Goodbye I think. It’s so emotional and beautiful produced by Sara Menke.
